Speak Up Speak Out

School safety and the wellbeing of our students and staff are our top priorities.  We recently have implemented SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT.  This system was created by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS).  Speak Up Speak Out is a comprehensive, one-stop place to turn with important concerns.  Students, parents, school staff, or any community members can submit a school safety concern or threat via our website, their website (https://speakup.widoj.gov/) mobile phone application (available on their website), or toll-free number (available on their website).  Staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement, and counselors.

About Us

Hello and welcome to Winneconne High School, where we are “Learning Today, and Leading Tomorrow.”

My name is Leah Michaud and it is my pleasure to serve as principal of Winneconne High School. I have worked in the Winneconne Community School District at WHS for the past 18 years.

At Winneconne High School, we work with students to establish their Academic and Career Plan (or ACP) and strive to find ways for them to maximize their opportunities while in high school. We offer a wide variety of courses and programs, including courses that offer college and/or technical college credit. Additionally, we offer eight Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Youth Apprenticeship opportunities, various music/performing arts courses (including theater production I and II), and engineering, foods, art, agriculture, foreign language, and business courses, in addition to our math, English, science, and social studies courses. The opportunities are limitless!

We are incredibly proud of our students’ accomplishments, both in the classroom and through their extracurricular activities. The 2025-26 school year was an amazing year for extracurriculars at WHS, boasting multiple theatrical productions that brought in record-breaking audience numbers, as well as FOUR - yes FOUR! - state titles in athletics for our undefeated football team, as well as our fishing, boys’ track, and boys’ golf teams. It really is a great time to be a WOLF!

And of course, we also work with students to prepare them for life after high school by emphasizing “The Winneconne Way,” encouraging students to always “Practice kindness, Always show respect, and Work to do your best.”

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments to share throughout the year, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or at 582-5810 x 1108.
