Hello and welcome to Winneconne High School, where we are “Learning Today, and Leading Tomorrow.”
My name is Leah Michaud and it is my pleasure to serve as principal of Winneconne High School. I have worked in the Winneconne Community School District at WHS for the past 14 years (3 years as a high school English teacher, 3 years as the Dean of Students, and the past 8 years as principal). Prior to joining the Winneconne family, I taught business and English in a rural Wisconsin district for several years.
At Winneconne High School, we work with students to establish their Academic and Career Plan (or ACP) and strive to find ways for them to maximize their opportunities while in high school. We offer a wide variety of courses and programs, including courses that offer college and/or technical college credit, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, hands-on practical courses that allow students to earn industry credentials (such as our Certified Nursing Assistant and Firefighting Essentials courses), various music/performing arts courses (including theater production I and II), engineering, foods, art, agriculture, foreign language, and business courses, in addition to our math, English, science, and social studies courses. The opportunities for students are truly limitless!
We also work with students to prepare them for life after high school by emphasizing “The Winneconne Way,” encouraging students to always “Practice kindness, Always show respect, and Work to do your best.”
